Here are some examples of custom work we perform on 1911 slides.
Original staked front sight in foreground, behind that, a slide which has had a dovetail front sight installedWe correctly cut the front sight dovetail so pinning is not required.Original front sight for comparisonOriginal ejection port in foreground, lowered and flared port in the slide behind. The original ejection port dimensions can cause issues with ejection. The interior of the ejection port has been flared to eliminate the sharp corner remaining after lowering, thus improving reliability. Also, note the bottom of the breech face, the groove visible in this slide is a disconnect relief ramp. This modification greatly improves performance. The forward edge of a correctly machined ejection port should be straight like the one in the above image.
